What is the MDG?

The roots of the MDG can be traced back to 1993 when several established regional purchasing groups linked to Airco were combined to create the Airco Distributor Association. By combining these groups, along with the support of Messer, the MDG’s buying power has allowed members to become a competitive force in today’s market place. Whereas, the smaller distributors enjoy the same pricing advantages as the larger regional distributors.
Our members range from large multi-facility and multi-state distributors to small, young start-up companies.
Although Messer is our US industrial gas supplier, MDG is a distributor run organization, as demonstrated by our Board make-up. Over the past 25 years, the MDG has withstood the high and lows of our economy, as well the mergers and acquisitions that have taken place in the distributor world. In this time, we have spent over $2.5B with our vendor partners.
